Ricky Parker

Ricky Parker is the Founding Director of the Hip Hop Studies program at Virginia Union University and currently serves as the Advisor for the program. Previously, Ricky served as the Executive Director of the Ruth Coles Harris Leadership Institute at Virginia Union University Sydney Lewis School of Business. Additionally, Ricky served in several roles at Virginia Union University including Adjunct Professor of Marketing, Deputy Director at the Center for African American History & Culture, Special Assistant to Provost, and Curator for the Museum of African Art. Parker also previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Advertising at Virginia Commonwealth University. His commitment to community activism is evident through his service on the Board of Directors for Art 180, The Poe Museum, and Firehouse Theatre.
