Project Overview

The Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission (RVARC) serves our area by collaborating on issues of transportation planning, economic development, environmental planning, community development, and sustainability programs. One such program is RIDE Solutions, a regional ridesharing program that provides free carpool matching services for citizens. RVARC approached our team when they felt their original marketing strategies, public relations efforts, and identity needed an update. RVARC needed a strategy and the tools to effectively communicate the breadth of their services. We completed website, brand, and communications audits. After an extensive peer review and the communications audit, we developed a marketing strategy and public relations plan. New messaging, logos, and a style guide were created for RVARC to elevate brand prominence. New websites were created for RVARC and RIDE Solutions on a simple-to-use platform, allowing staff to efficiently deploy new content. Additionally, tools were put in place that allowed RVARC to analyze user activity and to use insights gained from the process to better serve their customers. The newly launched websites saw an average overall site traffic increase of 38% over the previous site. For Bike Month, a key event month for RIDE Solutions, the average site traffic increased by 268% from the previous year.

We’re now able to track all kinds of new customer engagement that allows us to analyze how active our users are and what tools have been most popular, which has allowed us to better serve our customers as well as add and refine tools with a capacity we have never had before. Further, the support we have received from AccessU has been phenomenal, from the development of new products to the occasional support request, emergency or otherwise.
